Below you will find links to options that will work for my classes – I suggest picking something from each category.

I find Blick Art Materials at the corner of Mayfield and Coventry in Cleveland Heights has a better selection than Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

Materials for Drawing Classes:
Set of graphite drawing pencils in a range of hardnesses
Pad of sketch or drawing paper (copy paper or newsprint NOT recommended)
Kneaded eraser
The following are optional but can enhance your experience:
Strathmore Toned paper
Derwent drawing pencils (I use Ruby Earth for most, feel free to get the colors you prefer)
General’s white charcoal pencil
Prismacolor Ebony pencil
Any other drawing materials you would like to experiment with.

Drawing from the Masters with Linda Pearce (Intermediate/Advanced)
In this class, we will be studying the drawing techniques of Renaissance and Classical masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Holbein, and others.  We will use classical methods to achieve realism and elegance in our drawings, doing both studies of Master drawings and still life setups of our own. Intermediate drawing skill is a prerequisite.
Drawing for the Fraidy Cat with Linda Pearce (Beginner)
In this rewarding and fun course for beginners as well as advanced students, we will explore the many facets of drawing. Light, line shading, tonal quality and composition will be used to unlock the student’s creativity.  Join artist and teacher Linda Merchant Pearce for this class designed to provide artists of all abilities and experience with drawing skills, the basis for all visual arts. Acquire techniques that will help you build a foundation for continued development in all art mediums. Perspective, shading and highlighting, proportions and lay-in of drawings will be discussed as well as different types of drawing materials and ways to achieve your preferred drawing style.

Wildlife Art with Linda Pearce (Intermediate/Advanced)

Do you love wildlife?  Would you like to be able to draw animals that leap off the page?  Join wildlife artist Linda Merchant Pearce as we explore how to make your animal art come to life.  Technical understanding of eyes, feathers and fur, posture, and backgrounds will be discussed.
